From the town of Rocky Mount drive west on Route 40 past the Ferrum College chapel. Continue one-tenth of a mile further to the Blue Ridge Institute Building, a brick building topped with a plow weather vane.
All tours and activities start at the Blue Ridge Institute Building. There is ample parking for buses and RVs.
Group Reservations
The Institute's gallery exhibits are self-guided, and groups need not make reservations for visits to the galleries. Reservations are required for group visits to the Blue Ridge Farm Museum. Please call 540-365-4416 for reservation information.
BRI Speakers
Blue Ridge Institute staff members can entertain and inform your group with presentations on regional history and folkways. Often complemented with audio-visual presentations, our most popular programs highlight folk music, decorative arts, and the development of the Blue Ridge identity. These presentations normally run about one hour. Prices vary.
Group Meals and Meeting Facilities
Catered meals and/or refreshments can be provided at the Institute. Visitors may also enjoy lunch or dinner in the Ferrum College Dining Hall. For those bringing their own meals, picnic tables are available alongside Adams Lake on the college campus.
The Blue Ridge Institute offers two meeting rooms for public use by reservation. Depending upon availability, additional meeting space may also be arranged elsewhere on campus.
